Summary:
Shields of Love tells the heartfelt story of a struggling family in Reno Nevada facing and overcoming incredible odds, including mortgage foreclosure, a life threatening disease, near limb amputation and financial hardship. Yet, this family holds it all together with love, a sense of community and the constant desire to be of service. Cody Herbst 27, was an accomplished high school nationally ranked decathlete. He had a broad range of college scholarships and career options. Unfortunately at 17, Cody had unexplained medical issues. After numerous doctor visits, treatments and medical consultations, he suffers from nocturnal seizures and was diagnosed with epilepsy. If Cody does not adhere to a strict regimen, he could die. Cody is completely positive and optimistic. Wyatt also at the age of 17, had numerous offers for athletic scholarships but suffered from a devastating knee injury which could have resulted in his leg to be amputated. Despite his injury he has stayed very motivated in his education changing his career path and is now preparing to attend law school. Monique and Wes Herbst lovingly assist Cody and Wyatt while facing mortgage foreclosure due astronomical medical bill, extraordinarily high insurance cost, and other circumstance beyond their control. As this poignant documentary unfolds, the audience will experience perspectives from a mortgage and bankruptcy attorney, a world renown neurologist, well known professional athletes, and highly respected family friends. All of these individuals will attest to the Herbst family’s tireless dedication, steel resolve, and unconditional love – even in a time of crisis.

A Trip to Modesto, CA

Steven Herbert’s kids were great subjects to get photos of. I was down in Modesto, CA when the Golden Hour hit and the light was so perfect. We just happened to be driving right by this tree orchid and the light was being diffused magnificently through the trees. I said, lets go kids and took them out to play in the leaves. I feel for the rushed nature that I got some great photos!

Hayli was a great time. She was totally into the photoshoot considering it was freezing cold out, we hiked through the waste high weeds and she was only wearing a thin dress. This was Sarah’s(http://chasmphotography.webs.com/) photoshoot and I was there to assist but got a chance to take a few photos which I feel turned out. I hope that I will be able to do some photos of her again. So considering I fell on my ass hoping a barbwire fence and it was freaking cold, it was overall a great shoot.

Some updates:

As many of you may know, We have been working with the award winning author G. Brian Benson. Many of you may have seen the videos we have produced previously. These videos have gained huge exposure and we hope the same for the fourth coming material.
